We went Wednesday night to Lincoln Center Out Of Doors. (A great free summer series in NYC during late July and early August.)
The opening act was a terrific all female Mariachi band, Mariachi Flor De Toloache.
The headliner was an artist, writer, singer, rock n’ roller, uniquely associated with NYC and Robert Mapplethorpe. Patti Smith came out and blew the roof off (metaphorically.) She is still powerful, still political, now rocking a kind of Cousin It look at times. She had the crowd up and dancing from the get-go.
